      Before Applying:

      1. Read the 2006 CAO Handbook

      2. Read the Course Changes to view important changes to courses.

      Instructions

      * Applicants making an on-line application may pay the application fee using a Credit Card (MasterCard/Visa) or Debit Card (Laser). Alternatively, applicants may pay the application fee in advance at a bank within the Republic of Ireland using the Application Fee Payment Form. If you have not received an Application Fee Payment Form, it may be obtained by contacting CAO.

      * The fee for an online application is ˆ30 (euro). After 1st February, the late application fee will be ˆ60 (euro).

      For further information on fees, please view the fees table.

      * Applicants must not make more than one application (either on-line or paper). A ˆ10 (euro) penalty charge will be levied if an applicant submits more than one application (either on-line or paper).

      * Mature Applicants (i.e. those seeking entry on grounds of mature years) and applicants applying for Restricted Courses must contact the HEI(s) before making an application.

      * Mature applicants and applicants who have qualifications other than the 1985-2006 Irish Leaving Cert and/or 2000-2006 FETAC Level 5/6 (NCVA Level 2/3) are categorised as Non-Standard Applicants. Such applicants must complete the non-standard application section of the on-line application process.

      * Non-Standard Applicants must post all supporting documents to the CAO. Please read here (or page 9 of the 2006 CAO Handbook) for further instructions.

      N.B. Such documents must be posted to CAO without delay.

      N.B. All documents must be clearly marked with your name and Payment Number.

      * The closing date for normal applications is 1st February, 2006 (17:15).

      * The closing date for late applications is 1st May, 2006 (17:15).

      * N.B. Applicants who must submit a non-standard application are strongly encouraged to ensure that these applications are submitted by 15th December 2005. This will lead to early consideration of these applications and may also enable decisions to be made known to applicants before the usual August.
